Most all the chargers/converters for such devices are designed to have the
center pin connection as positive and the shell connection as negative but
provided that you isolate the frame of the cigar lighter from the frame of your
car
(use rubber sheeting and nylon screws and nuts) you can wire up the lighter
in this manner with no problem.
