Dash installation detail

A dash installation question - as the archives and parts manual were not  
conclusive on this: 
 
The parts manual shows a 'steady bracket.'  Apparently this steady  bracket 
acts to 'steady' the somewhat unsteady dash panel(?)  Exactly from  where to 
where does this steady bracket attach?
 
Any chance someone can send me some detail, or a picture?   Thanks!
