... and none of them requires a particular coil, AFAIK. Though a sports coil
(or high voltage coil) bears the advantage of stronger sparks, especially when
revving high.

Depends on which Electronic ignition set up you buy.  there are five that I
know of... pertronix, luminition, mallory kit, mallory distributor, and 123
ignition.
