As you noted the Workshop Manual doesn't give a torque figure for the  rear 
wire wheel  splined hub adapter nuts. When I replaced mine  some time ago, I 
sought the counsel of the good people at Hendrix Wire  Wheel, and they 
recommended 60 ~ 70 lb-ft, so you are right on the  money. Incidentally they 
have not 
become loose after 3000 or so  miles.
