Hi Lin, if the bearings are good then leave them alone. The original
bearings are, as you say, very well lubed and they are a good heavy bearing.
The new bearings are excellent also, thanks to new technology and improved
processes, but they are not as heavy as the originals.
We have installed about 25 of the Lempert rear ends, and found the
bearings are good in over 90% of them. The ones that are doubtful look as
though they have had moisture at some time or other.
