RE: Overdrive snafu, moving to a conclusion

I feel I should jump in here because I have had some experience 
driving a car that uses an overdrive switch without the throttle 
switch and relay. It's fine for engaging (upshifting), but as Steve 
has said, if you turn off the dash switch you will feel a violent 
reaction from the overdrive. My way around this was to use the clutch 
just as if I were downshifting with the gearbox.
