Yes it can be done.
1. Remove spark plugs and pressurize the cylinder with air pressure
with the cylinder at TDC and rocker arm assy removed.
MAKE SURE THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL. If the engine is not
at
TDC the engine will start to turn as soon as there is air pressure
applied.
2. Now you will need the get a spring compressor that will work to
compress the spring and remove the keepers. Do not push the valve
down as that will release the air pressure and drop the valve down
into the cylinder.
3. Now you can replace the valve seal and re assemble.
The valve seals that you had on should not have dried up after
sitting for a couple of years are you sure that this is the problem.
