John,
This afternoon I checked for fuel by
1-disconnecting the fuel hose and letting the fuel
pump run for a few seconds. I though I was going to
spill some gas when I disconnected the hose but no gas
came out of the hose (pump not running).
2-I put the hose in a bucket and let the pump run for
a few seconds and several ounces of gas flowed into
the bucket.
3-I checked the carburetor fuel bowls and they were
both full so the grose jets don't appear to be
sticking.
I put everything back together and made sure there was
no slack in the choke cable (outside temperature in
the low 50s) and tried to start the engine no success
AGAIN. I bought a can of starter fluid and I will try
starting the Healey with starter fluid this weekend.
In the meantime if anyone could give me some hints as
to why getting my Healey to start after it sits idle
for a while is such a b*tch I'd really be greatful.
Thanks
Jorge
