I agree. Modifying a non-OD transmission can be done, but requires a lot of 
parts which may be hard to come by. There are transmission/OD units on Ebay 
most of the time although they are a little pricey.

The up side is that you should already have the 3.909:1 final drive, which 
when combined with the OD, will give your car some real legs on the road.
