Brake servo.
Try stopping the engine then gently pressing the pedal severs times.
If they release and the pedal drops noticeably that's the problem.

Subject: [Healeys] Brakes sticking

A problem developed with the brakes sticking on. Have recently installed =
new ceramic brake pads. It was a tight fit with the added felt type =
backing? I used the metal shims also? The rubber diaphragm in the brake =
booster(Lockheed)was also replaced. It was torn and leaked. Used Lucas =
brand Dot 4 fluid. System is well bled. Stopping is very good.

=20

The calipers were rebuilt with stainless pistons and all rubber hoses =
and some steel lines were replaced. New rear wheel cylinders. This was =
done in 2002.

=20

New pads have about 7-800 miles. Break in as per instructions. Drove =
to Enclave and noticed the sticking when in stop and go traffic on a =
very hot day. Temp gauge reached 212 at times. This is when the problem =
starts, in traffic, gauge temps over 190, very hard pedal develops.

=20

Noticed after these runs both front wire wheels are very hot to the =
touch. Back wheels normal.

=20

=20

No sticking in cool ambient temps and gauge reads normally 180-190.=20
