Given the challenge of getting a floor jack under the exhaust side of of th=
e car, a definitive and authoritative answer to this question would be help=
ful. I haven't done it on the Healey, but I think this practice is pretty c=
ommon.=20

 Thought about posting this to shop-talk, but I suspect there's more=20
general car knowledge here.

I believe my Mustang manual has admonitions against jacking the rear by=20
placing a floor jack under the rear pumpkin.=C2=A0 I've jacked-up Healeys=
=20
this way for years, but the Healey axle housing is a single chunk of=20
iron; the Mustang probably has thin-wall tubes from the pumpkin to the=20
wheels.=C2=A0 Theoretically, you could bend the thin-wall tubes, but I've=
=20
done it a few times with no noticeable issues.

Thoughts from the Illuminati?

Bob
