Subject: [Healeys] Interesting comment from a dealer
Thought you Healeyphiles might enjoy this.=C2=A0 This attitude might explai=
n why there are so many BJ8s running around now that have lost their origin=
al identities and acquired new ones.=C2=A0 People need to pay special atten=
tion to the correct identity of a car when they are considering buying it.
A BJ8 was recently advertised by LBI, Ltd. as HBJ8L/25366 -- a Phase 1 VIN.=
=C2=A0 However, both the VIN plate and the body plate are from a BJ7.
I inquired twice about the reason for the discrepancy, and this is the resp=
onse.=C2=A0 Note the last sentence:
Hi Steve,
=C2=A0=C2=A0 Yes, we noticed this as well and traced it back to a simple mi=
stake. The tags to this car were put on another car and vice versa, everyth=
ing has since been switched and corrected. We just need to take new photos.=
Minor issue, thankfully it's not an important car!=20

er, but the photo of the VIN plate shows it reads HBJ7L24221, and the body =
