The Luvax shocks originally used on TAs are hydraulic vane dampers, not
friction dampers.  They are rotary, in the sense that movement of the
shock arm rotates a vane within the oil-filled cylindrical shock body.
The oil offers resistance to the vane, providing the damping force.
