As a follow up to my message of several days ago I have solved the
problem of making a rubber grommet for the hole in my bell housing. At
the suggestion of some of you gentlemen on this list I searched the
industrial supply place and found appropriate temperature rated 1/2" x
12" x 12" rubber sheets. These sheets cost $205.00 each.

So I went out to the garage and cut a 3" x 4" piece of .040 aluminum,
put holes in the corners of it, aligned and drilled matching holes in my
bell housing, drilled two side by side 5/8" holes an inch down from the
top of it, polished it a little, installed two 5/8" grommets, and presto
I have a polished aluminum cover for the hole in my bell housing.

        Best regards,
        Tom
