The "black plate" is the old style plates that were issyed from 1964
untill around the end of 1969 when they ran out of numbers. Some folks
realy like to have the old style or original plates on their cars.

1969 MGC blue plate (car first sold in 1970)
1972 MBZ blue plate
1978 MBZ white plate
1964 MGB no plate-no v.i.n.
1973 MGB no plate (D.M.V. fees exceed the value of car)
We have so many styles of plates out here that it is hard to keep track.
I just saw a new plate it had palm trees on it, there is also a plate
with a picture of yosomite valley. And now we can even get symbols on our
plates like a star or heart. When will it end!
