Here's bit of information I got off the Porschephiles list. Has anybody =
done any research on this topic? I was not aware that anyone would =
insure for autocross.

| So far as I know, conventional policies don't cover track events
| either. If anyone knows otherwise, especially if it can be obtained
| on a short-term basis, I'm sure many of us would want to know.

I just talked to my State Farm agent who discussed this with their
underwriters. Autocross is covered. Drivers Education (non-timed)
events are covered, but high speed time trials and wheel-to-wheel
racing are not covered. This will of course vary by insurance company.
Call yours if you have any doubt.

I think Stan put it most succinctly (paraphrasing slightly): don't go
club racing or time trialing unless you are prepared to have
your pride and joy wadded up into a ball at your expense!

I am sticking to insured events for now. When I get a second,
non-daily-driver, p-car, I will try time trials and/or club racing.

    Eric
