Jay; Bearing supply houses have collars which fit over the boss the
seal fits against to give a new smooth surface. I'm not sure if you can
get one for your application but it might be worth looking into   You
will need to go to a bearing supplier not a auto parts store. Bring
your seals and parts and they might be able to help you out.

Yesterday I stopped into one on my way home and picked up the correct
seals and bearings for my MORGAN.  They matched them up and never even
asked what it was going into much less what type of car.
