First off, I hope not everyone else was plagued by UPS not guarenteeing
(or delivering for that matter) their 2nd day air packages..... I really
needed that brake switch....and it came the day after I got back from my
trip........oh well...as a temp solution, I soldered the poooo out of the
external electrical connection (brass rivet/steel lug) and had
intermitant brake lights.

For those of you with craked heads (I couldn't resist)

What were the symptoms, how was the engine running, and can the head be
welded for a short term fix????

I ask because 2/3 of the way to my grandparents I figured I'd check under
the hood to see if the engine was still there......it was, but there had
been a leak around the head gasket between......yep, 2 and 3. I haven't
experienced any overheating, and I'm not sure on this one, but the DPO
claimed the car hadn't been used in several years.

I'm hoping that the head gasket set (UPS overnight!!!PLEASE come this
morning!!!) will be the solution.......

Oh yea, she runs nice, but there is a little (not steady) miss at
idle........and she hit 90 before I ran out of road and had to get on the
brakes......vooooooooommmmmmmmmm take that Montana.
