Many years ago, I bought my then young son a cast metal Jaguar XK-120, in
approximately 1/12 scale. The distinguishing feature was that it used
pneumatic tires similar (or identical) to largish model airplane wheels.
I am pretty sure the steering worked and I seem to remember that there was
a suspension system. I can't remember the maker, but they also made an
MG-TD model, which is probably what you saw. I saw one of the TD models
last summer in a display at a car show, but the owner was not there and
the attendant (rightly) would not let me touch it to check the
manufacturer. I know the owner slightly, she and her spouse are real MG
fanatics, and next time I see her I intend to find out the manufacturer.
I cannot locate the jag model; I suspect my ex- threw it out (suppressed
anger), or it is in my son's basement buried somewhere.

The TD and the XK-120 are the only such models I've ever seen. If they
are worth a lot, it will motivate my son to look for his.
