chipped windshield

Has anyone out there ever used one of those windshield repair kits to fill a 
bull's eye chip?  (My chip isn't traveling anywhere, but as luck would have it, 
it's right in front of the driver's seat.) I just want to know if they're any 
good.  I wouldn't want to repair the chip only to have it look worse afterward.
