Actually, yes.

I don't have the details handy, but local university professor Allen
Bachelder (who hasn't been seen on this list for quite some time) discovered
a B assumed to be from 1975 because of the rubber bumpers.  A bit of
inspection revealed some very bizarre brackets holding the bumpers on, which
clued him in that some nitwit had retrofitted the rubber.  No clue who could
have done it, so there was no clue on the motive.  <shrug>
