I've always liked Fram filters and saw something a Western Auto I hadn't
 seen before (just after changing my oil and filter). Fram now has a premimum
filter with a teflon engine treatment in it. The filter was about $10 rather
than $3.50 for their standard.

This sounds like an alternative to the Slick 50 treatment. I'm going to try
it at the next opportunity (my 214 HP Eagle Vision's next to be changed).
