I've replaced the rear leafs in Rags with GT leafs, but left them at stock
height. I did this because Rags was, by and large, a daily driver before I
took her off the road for a short overhaul, and I'd prefer to have my bumper
at more-or-less the same height as the teenage mutant ninja jockeys who seem
to inhabit the roads hereabouts. If I get hit, I'd prefer it were on the
bumper.
So far, with the limited experience I've got with the new leafs, I'd say
they're a definite improvement. As to removing the extra leaf, I'd put them
in stock, see how you like it, and then think about modifying them a bit.
