I believe Huffacker was turning out even more than 140bhp in the sixties
and seventies. I would love to know what they can push today.

Since the guy is a good friend I won't call him a prat!
The B lump responds excellently to both mild and heavy tuning.
Why did MG give out tuning tips to all those hungry for more performance?
There are currently many books on the subject one goody is How to power
tune
MGB...From 68 to 140 BHP.

There are many hotter cams available today as are fast road distributors.
The lump responds very well to being bored out 1940cc, 2100cc are two
larger
variants.
The latter stage II tune giving a heady 130+ BHP as sold by MG owners
club.
