'Mole' are similarly proprietary self-locking pliers in the UK.  The
wrench with adjustable jaws is called ... an adjustable spanner.
'Vice' is the spelling for both engineering tools and houses of
ill-repute.  There is a reason for this, it is the word 'tool'.
'A good tool' is sometimes used to describe a car of performance
and/or luxury, and 'tooling around' is driving - or are we back to
houses of ill-repute again?
