I haven't found a suitable replacement myself. All those jap 5
speed conversions are only meant for the older A-type engine. Nothing
is stopping you from engineering one, but there is nothing off the
shelf that I have found.
One option is to install a Spitfire overdrive tranny, there are
kits to help with the metalwork required to fit the thing. The
back of MG enthusiast magazine has a tiny ad for these kits at
99 pounds.
It does require body modifications and some metalwork to
the cross member, but it doesn't look to bad.
