Hello, I am looking for Rootes whom I conversed with in the MG chat room
tuesday. I have looked at the Magnette at British Motorsports, Inc. The
bootlid is straight, but not very good condition. It has surface rust all
over and appears to have been repaired before. No rot, but will definitely
need work. The rear bumper looks straight but again it has pitting with rust
although not bad. Either way will need rechroming. The overriders have been
flattened on the front of them, I don't think that was the original shape. I
didn't see the front bumper, but he had it, the overriders, brackets and
valance to gether for $200. I think that was the best piece he had as he had
it stored. His number is 1-408-370-7174 if you are interested. I plan on
going down there again to pick up a reman water pump. He claims the new ones
from MOSS, VB, et al are poor quality and soon fail, got me thinking! $10
more and peace of mind, 1 year warranty good enough for me. I'm going to look
at the other Magnette sunday, will let you know what it's like.
