Ive been British all my life and used the gesture often - if i ever knew
what it meant ive forgotten.........now i HAVE to know..C'mon - somebody,

This one I do know - "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" - basically coveting
your neighbours wife - it got you hung or burned or whatever was the
vogue dismemberment of the day -  not much in the "free love " stakes
back then!!!
