Couldn't help remembering that during trips to N. Carolina
took the exit for Linville off the parkway which led us to the
bottom of Grandfather mountain, an exhilirating test for an
MG up a steeply rising mountain road. The views are outstanding
at the top where the road ends in a parking area. In the
town of Banner Elk, about maybe 10 miles from Linville, we were
surprised to find French, Italian, and Lousiana type cooking
restaurants that were a match for any in big cities on the east
or west coasts. Just thought it might be worth a stop should
make the trip.
