Given the inherent problems associated with sealing MGB head
water passages I will spend whatever it takes to get the best quality
gasket I can get my hands on. The copper head gaskets and head sets on
the market are cheap. I carry and sell the copper gaskets. I will not
recomend them! The best gaskets on the market are the grey asbestos
(Payen) and the new Unipart gasket which has a resin coating and is
almost black. The fastest MGB (4 cyl) in SCCA is running the Payen
gasket without o-ringing. The Unipart gasket is a new design and I have
no long term experience with it, though Peter Burgess says good things
about them in his book.
