My '57 MGA has a weld starting at the upper rear of the shock absorber =
opening that heads toward the rear of the car. The path of the weld is =
more or less horizontal and the surrounding area is a little wavey =
looking.

On the passenger-side inner fender on an MGA, is there supposed to be a =
weld=20
or join line a few inches above where the shock absorber sticks out? =
I've=20
noticed this on a '59 MGA I looked at over the weekend, and was =
wondering if=20
it might have had some accident damage. There is also a little =
distortion=20
right above this line. No such line is on the driver's side inner =
fender. I=20
don't see any signs of accident damage on the outer fender or any other =
part=20
of the front end. The frame rail right beside the inner fender is =
perfectly=20
straight.
