Hey everyone,

I spent today getting my new wiring harness in the car and came up with
a couple challenges that I need some help/advice on. The car is a VERY
early 67 (manufactured in 66) 1275 Sprite.

1. Some DPO has installed a Smiths NEGATIVE ground tach in the dash of
may car. This is a large face tach like the original, but the bezel and
needle doesn't match my car. Anyhow, the wiring that this tach wants to
run correctly does not in any way, shape, or form match my wiring
harness. Additionally, I lose my ignition light since it doesn't have
the place for one. So does anyone have an early Large face, POSITIVE
ground tach that I can convert and put in my dash. So I have a working
tach again???

2. We took the wings off after we found the timing chain is no longer
aligned correctly, (new one gets ordered monday), and mine are just in
terrible shape. My 67 does not have sidelights on the front part of the
bumper as the later 1275 cars had, I think they changed in 68. I need
to track down some replacements, especially for the right one, and saw
that most parts places sell the same wing for all the 1275 years. Is it
that they just expect me to UPDATE my car to the new ones, or at least
fill the holes for the side lamps? Is my fender the same as the Sprite
MKIII / Midget MkII Midget (without the chrome strip of course) there
are many pieces on my car that were carryover from those model, (like
the above dash and gauges)? Does anyone have the fender(s) in question
for my car?

3. My bonnet was rescued from a Midget junkyard car and lacks one very
important item. It doesn't have the holes to mount my winged emblem on
the front. If there was another Sprite around I guess that I could
measure it to see where the cutting needs to take place, but since I
don't have another Sprite around, does anybody have a suggestion of how
I can get the measurements, and the best way to cut the holes when I do
get them.

Well, just to let you know the other projects coming up, we're replacing
the front frame arms so I can put a bumper back on the car when it is
back. I am installing my wire wheels along with a brake job as soon as
I get all the parts over here from the parents house where I left them,
and buy a Left course thread hex knock-off (anyone have an old one of
those around. So these things, along with the timing chain
installation, are going to keep me busy for a while.

Well that's about it for today. Thanks in advance for the help and
suggestions, and let me know if you can help with the locating of a
decent used tach and fender(s).

Oh yeah, when I took off the fenders, I found 2 wrenches and a
screwdriver, it felt like Christmas.

Thanks
