To start I would like to thank all those that have responded to my posts
both privately and publicly in the past, you have been a big help. Now
on to more problems.

Two weeks ago, my 73 B, decided not to run anymore. Troubleshot the
problem, and discovered I wasn't getting any spark. Took off the
distributor, and discovered that I needed a new distributor cap. I
figured that while I was at it, I would install a Petronix Electronic
Ingnition System. Simple so far, right?

Problems.

1. When I took the cap off, a long slender spring fell out of the
distributor onto the ground. I have since learned that this connects
to the vacuum advance. The spring appears to be broken, the loop at
the end is not there anymore. Without the spring the Distributor is
freee to float around inside. Moss wants 70 bucks for a new vacuum
advance unit, any suggestions. Anybody want to donate a used unit
cheap?

2. The new Distributor Cap I purchased will not fit my distributor. It
appears that the height of the cap is not enough. The cap will not lock
down. Moss sells two caps, I guess I will buy the other one.

3. The electronic ignition system, has two wires on it. One says goes
to the positive and one to the negative side of the coil. My coil has
two sides, one with two wires and one side with a single wire. Which
side is which? Which wires do I keep?

4. Anyone have any experience with this system and would like to share
some advice with me. Should I set the advance to anything different
then "normal"?

Sorry for the extremely long post. I just really want to get back on
the road.

Thanks,

Glenn Wakefield
