"...WD-40 containing water?"
I used it for cleaning the carb parts during the rebuild - no problem;
no rust so far. Even if it does contain a little water, so what? How
much water gets on the parts when you drive in the rain?
I bet the makers of WD40 have a website. Maybe there are some answers
there.
