Larry,
The talk about the 97s, Porters, blue dots, door kick swithces and shaved
bodies nearly brought tears to my eyes.  Personally, I preferred the purr of
a set of Smittys to go with the then high compression (8 to 1) Offenhauser
heads and used a hood release mechanism on the deck lid which was controlled
via a cable located near the floor line at the back seat cushion.  Never did
get my top chopped but had the skirts with Buick streamers to dress it up.
