For those who are OD challenged and desire an indicator light as a reminder,
may I suggest that you forget the light and consider a cow prod or taser (sp)
like attachment for the shift knob. This way, whenever the OD is engaged and
the transmission is not in 3rd or 4th gear .... Well you get the picture.

On the more positive side of ODs, the OD in my 69 C Roadster has been working
flawlessly for the last 6 years. The one in my 69 B Roadster is another story
altogether and is on the list of things to fix but use to work flawlessly as
well.

IMHO the worth of an OD, in pure driving pleasure, is only debatable among the
ignorant, the misguided and maybe a few with limited OD experience.

This reminds me of a few weeks ago, when the SO was watching while I
read the MG list mail, and asked "Why do you people want those cars when
they're always breaking down all the time?" I had to point out the fact
that listers usually don't bother writing just to say "hey, my car's
running great, and has been for years." In the same vein, we haven't
heard much from the owners of trouble-free overdrive, only from those
with problems, so have wrongly (stupidly) assumed they were all
troublesome. My apologies to the OD people on the list. I should know
better, eh?

Don't assume that because you have found one problem, you have found the
ONLY problem.
