>Folks,
Another question for this learned group.
Anyone have experience replacing the vent window rubber seals on a GT or
know what book shows it step by step??
 Any tips to pass along?
Mine happens to be a 67 BGT special but it should be the same for all,
<n'est pas?(Everyone seems to like French in a message these days :>)).

'Snot trivial. You have to remove the wind-wing to do it proper-like.
You have to remove the wind-wing frame from the door to remove the
wind-wing proper-like. The wind-wing frame is part of the window
frame, which you have to remove to do it proper-like. To remove
the window rail, you have to remove the window to do it proper-like.
To remove the window, you have to remove the crank mechanism to do it
proper-like. While you're in there, you may as well replace the rubber
window strip, to do it proper-like. In short, you dismantle almost the
entire door... ...to do it proper-like. Reassembly is the reverse
of the above.
One hint: the long hex-head bolts that are under the plastic caps
that are exposed near the wind-wing when you open the door screw into
a SOFT steel strip in the window rail/windwing assembly. It is easy to
strip out the threads, and then you end up trying to find thin nuts that you
can file down to fit behind the strips to screw into...
ANyone have a more quick-and-easy solution to this? Cutting the seals
is cheating!
