I got about a metre of it from a bearing shop..  Plumbing shops also seem
to know what I'm taking about.  It does come in different thickenesses.
Keep in mind, I'm in Australia but I described it as "carbon impregnated
rope seal" and they seemed to know what I was wanting.  It comes in
different thicknesses.
