Yup its about a year old now, and the deadline noted is about a year to
late.  The only difference between this and those 'viruses' is that this is
real, BUT extremely over exaggerated.  Now I believe you email gets dumped
into to /dev/null  ;-)

There is a small 'tax' US residents with more than one line have to pay
now.  It isn't much, I have 3 lines into my house... if I remember
correctly its $5 per line per year.  (so if you have 2 lines, you pay $5 a
year...3 lines would be $10/year)

BTW, I find it ironic that the FCC site is dead.  www.fcc.gov

I'll try and dig up some 'evidence' in the ISP archives about this...I
didn't save any of the messages from the ISP list.
