I seek the sage advice of the list about new wiring harnesses.
I recently spoke to a mechanic who told me that every restoration he
ever
did involved the purchase and installation of a new wiring harness. He
suggested the same for my '74 'B. Now, my car has very few electrical
boo-boo's that I know of, and the harness seems to be in pretty good shape.
Most of my electrical problems so fare have been dirty ground connections.
Keep in mind that this car isn't going to be a 100-point showmobile. I
want a nice, safe car, but I intend on driving it. In other words, I don't
know if it would be a good idea to spend the extra money on wiring when I
could get new seatcovers or something. What does anybody think? Is a new
harness good insurance, or should I save my money?
