Eric,
Rick's point about beating rythmically is a good one. I changed my boots
recently and found that a series of medium blows with a standard hammer did
the trick--whereas a few big blows had no effect. Just take the hammer
back about 12" and hit it as often as you can for about ten blows. (This
should be done only after jacking the kingpin about an inch per the
procedure in the Moss manual.) Works for me--YMMV.
