<<So, competition drives Moss to keep selling the inferior product. And we,
being aware of that, should indeed follow your suggestion and try to
re-chrome original parts as often as possible if we really want "Show"
quality.

It's not show quality we are looking for. Your comments about price
notwithstanding, the Moss product is CRAP. You are no doubt correct as to why
they produce this stuff, but why can't they also offer a decent product for
those willing to pay for it?
A few years ago my MGA Coupe bumper was hit badly enough that it needed
replacement and all that was available was a Moss item. I finally took a new
Moss bumper that I borrowed from a local shop, that had never been mounted but
had been on the shelf for 3 or 4 years, to the insurance company to show them
the rust coming through the pitifully thin chrome, before I could convince
them to pay for a rechrome job on my brand new Moss bumper before it was
mounted on the car.

You could just about take a frame and driveline, and add all new Moss (and
other parts sellers' items) to make a new car, but it would be nowhere near
what an original car would be in terms of detailed appearance. I know one guy
with an XK 120 that will not put any reproduction parts on it, and spends,
needless to say, a lot of time searching for NOS stuff.
