I recently sprung a oil leak with no idea where it was=20
coming from. I spent a full day cleaning the engine block=20
of old oil/dirt and eventualy found the oil was coming from=20
the top of the dipstick tube.
I dropped the car of at the garage for a check up, turns=20
out that the breather pipes were blocked. The garage=20
cleaned up and found a fault on my Carbs (SU HIF's) and=20
suggested replacing them with SU HS4's (=A3230). after=20
fitting the new carbs the car runs like a 'dog' -=20
sputtering and missing. The garage now suggests replacing=20
the Distributer as they are pulling against each other!

I'm no mechanic BUT I thought the timing etc would just=20
need adjusting or the carbs balancing and adjusting for the=20
car to run properly!

The total cost of the work was =A3323 pounds, and now I'm=20
having to have the car checked out by a tuning specialist.
