Rebuild them yourself since the throttle shafts are the only thing that
require any machining. Use a chemical cleaner. Do not sandblast the carbs;
the clearances inside for the piston is very close and blasting will disturb
it. Get a Unisyn for synching them if you don't already have one- this is
something you would have to do anyway even if you paid someone to rebuild
them. You need to synch them at idle and at say 1500 rpm.
SU's are very simple and once you've done a rebuild on them, you'll be that
much more familiar with your car.
