  If it means anything, i have a similar problem on my Midget. Cutting
the paint with rubbing compound makes it look fantastic... for a few
weeks. Then it starts to turn from red to pink.

  In modern base/clear systems, the clear has UV blockers that
keeps the basecoat from oxidizing. I am curious what happens
if you don't clearcoat.
