Since I'm pulling my engine again on my B, I'm thinking about putting
SUs on it to replace it's never-worked-right Zenith Stromberg.

I have, but don't want to use, the HIF4s from my 74 1/2 GT. I'd rather
not take anything off of that car unless I really have to.

My 76 has no smog equipment, really. EGR is plugged, cat gone, air pump
removed. There's an anti-run on valve and I think that's it.

So what all is involved in doing the conversion, for those of you who
have done it? I am aware of the air filters not fitting b/c of the
brake booster. I'm also aware that I'll have to create a vacuum source
for the booster, and use a different exhaust manifold and 2 into 1
pipe. What about other smog equipment? Also, what year and model
(62-67, 68-71, 72-74 manifold), HS4 or HIF4, is a better carb, and makes
a better conversion.

My engine has higher comp. pistons. I did a compression test and got
180psi, +/- 3psi across the board. Is that unusually high? Stock cam
for 72-80, though. I've always wanted to get rid of the Z-S, so now's
the time. Lots of questions...

Thanks.
