Denise,
  You might smell the leak in the heater before you see it, but then you
might not. Removing the heater box is not something that one does for
fun, so check that the hoses  are good on the inside as well as good
looking on the outside before you get into heater box removal.
  PB Blaster is there in auto parts stores, but not all of them
everywhere. Keep looking. BTW, the screws for the heater box are
Posidrive, not Phillips.  This is a place where it _does_  matter.
