Someone back me up on this - but those readings sound impossible, especially
when after 'adjustment' they came back up to 150. What other 'adjustment'
can be done to affect compression pressures? I can't imagine how far out of
spec the valve clearance would have to be to generate zero compression (if
at all possible) and if they are going that far out of whack your Rocker
assembly is toast and you'd be getting an awful clatter! I don't think it's
possible to get *zero* compression due to bad valve clearance unless you
didn't have any pushrods installed, or any rocker arms ;) <G>. The only
thing I could think of would be serious head gasket failure, or totally
stuffed piston rings but...

you said they are all now 150, adjusting the valves does not eliminate a
failed head gasket or leaking piston rings, so I don't think you have
anything wrong with the valves at all, or the cylinder head, seats, rings
etc. 150psi is a good figure. They took the readings wrong IMHO. It still
sounds like something else is wrong with your car, oil, cooling, ignition
etc.

Can you forward us a list of what the Mechanic did? I always had mine
itemise what they did otherwise I won't use them (or pay them). In case I
ever need to go back and complain. <G>

Can someone recommend a straight shooting Mechanic to Joanna in the area
she's currently in?

Cheers,
Neil.
