This info came from selling used parts.  So take it for what it is worth.

63-67 Roadster 3 synch, non-OD        20 1/4"
63-67 Roadster 3 synch, OD              21 1/4"
66-67 GT 3 synch, non-OD              21 1/4"
66-67 GT 3 synch, OD                      22 1/4"
68-80 RD and GT 4 synch                   21 1/4"
68-80 RD and GT 4 synch, OD               21 1/4"

        The non-synch OD gearbox is 1" shorter than the OD gearbox.
        The Banjo 63-67 Rdst differential is 1" longer than the Saulsbury
68-80 and all GT diff.

        The rarest driveshaft is the short, OD 3 synch trans with short
Saulsbury diff, this is only found on the 66-67 GT.

        There appear to be subtle variations of 1/8" or so, with different
part numbers, but practically the above dimensions allow effective
interchange.
