Sorry to here about your car, I carry comprehensive insurance on my '71 B, that
has been in the garage for several years now while undergoing a rebuild after
being hit and wrecked. Comprehensive protects against not only fire, but theft,
collapse of your garage etc. Through State Farm, compressive costs me about $10
every 6 months for the B (my last bill was $10.08). In the past I have carried
full coverage on the car during the driving season and switched it to
comprehensive when the car was parked in the winter. If the car in question is
old enough and is close to being driven, you might consider an antique policy.
For my '54 MG TF 1500, which I told them was worth $12,000, full coverage under
an antique policy with State Farm is only about $40 every 6 months.
